Re: Piscotty Up

You just can't carry a guy with a .150 batting average. Especially on a team that wants to play in October.

Re: Piscotty Up

Watching Reds/Cubs. It's been a long time since I've listened Brennadork because the Cardinals haven't played in Cincinnati for awhile and the Reds are irrelevant, but he and Idiot Sidekick are out-doing themselves in hyperbole and bluster.
First of all, Brennaman seems to have adopted a Brahmin accent ("Furst base;" "thurd base.") I think he thinks he's George Plimpton reincarnated. Except George Plimpton was educated at Harvard and Cambridge and Brennadouche went to the University of Ohio, where math is probably referred to as "cypherin.'"
They're touting the "sellout crowds," from the weekend, and they drew 35,000 plus for each game, but they played ... the Indians. As in their in-state rival. The crowd is decent tonight, but they're playing the Cubs, and there are a lot of blue shirts speckled in the crowd.
They're pumping Frazier, natuarally as "an MVP candidate." Except he's not. Frazier is having a great season, but there are two other players, either one of him could win a Triple Crown, who would keep Frazier from getting a single first place vote.
Then they were on Lozrenzen's shit. Last time out, he "almost out-dueled (read: lost to) Cy Young candidate (no he's not) Jose Fernandez." That was two innjings ago. He just coughed up the lead and has thrown 106 pitches through five.
I'm switching to Royals/Pirates momentarily.

Re: Piscotty Up

Oh, and if you're in the Cincinnati area on Aug. 1, it's Devin Mesoraco bobblehead night. They're giving away dolls of a guy who hasn't played since May 20 and has a .242 career batting average.

For the first 12,000 fans, the doll comes with a walker and a concussion.

Rec.
The Reds now trail the Cubs by seven games in the all-important loss column for *thurd* place.

Re: Piscotty Up

Pujols homered in both games of a double header tonight to tie Mike Schmidt for 15th.

I'm sure it's partly because he's on my fantasy team, but I'm starting to root for Pujols again. I'm glad the Cardinals aren't the ones paying him, though they could use the power. There's a real chance he hits 40 HR this year, though he's only hitting .250.

Correction- he just hit his 2nd HR of the 2nd game and passed Schmidt.

He's on my fantasy team, but I'm not there yet. I'm not sure I'll ever get past the "God told me to play in Anaheim" nonsense. But it was nice of the Angels to put the 2015 Boston Red Sox to bed this weekend. Most of the chatter this morning is about how much of a haul Ben  Cherington should get for in a trade for Koji Uehara and his 88 mph fastball.

I figured it would be johnson.  Maybe they want to get pham more time, idk.  I have no clue why kozma is on the team.  He serves no purpose besides an injury replacement for peralta.  Surely someone else in the organization can play short.  Idk how garcia, ryan jacksoned himself.

This is just asking for another of my "Ben Cherington is one of the worst GMs in baseball" rants.

Re: Piscotty Up

Im a pujols fan again.  He is in another league so it is easier to root for him.  I dont want to see him suck and his career fade.  He is one the best hitters ive had a chance to watch and he played on the cardinals.  Money makes peolpe say and do stupid stuff....pussy has the same effect
