Could be Mozeliak's worst trade ever.

This idea is horrible, imo. Id rather see piscotty and reynolds keep getting starts then trade a real prospect for Moss.

Not an idea, AP. Done deal.

Don't love the deal, but I don't hate it as much as you guys do. They had to make a move. Moss is a legitimate power bat and he's under control for 2016.
I would have preferred Lind, and it sounded like that was their primary target, but for whatever reason they couldn't make it happen.

I'd like it if he wasn't nine months removed from hip surgery.

They have to be thinking of using him mainly at first and letting Piscotty stick with mainly OF, right?

Yes.
I think that's correct, but I wouldn't rule out the possibility that Moss is an outfield option in 2016 if they can't/don't resign Heyward.

well said.
Maybe this is the start of some other good trade? P

i don't like this deal. the guy doesn't have much of an average, and it seems like we are giving up a really good prospect for a guy who had a really good 2013.

He lit it up for the A's in 2012, too. Even last year was good until his hip acted up. He's a good hitter, but players who have hip surgeries take awhile to recover.

With all the options available I was hoping for a better player then moss. Hopefully it works out. I read someplace he hasnt been a better hitter then reynolds but I dont see that. He is a improvement over reynolds imo. Hopefully he catches fire. I was just expecting more, especially with holliday going down. Piscotty does look like the real deal. He wont be a force in the ljneup but I like his steady calmness.
