Can't overstate the importance of winning game 1, especially with Cole pitching Thursday.

I'm really starting to warm to Heyward. I wonder what it would cost to keep him. Maybe he isn't the offensive answer this team needs, but he's an excellent all-around ball player.

Correction--Cole pitches tonight against Wacha.

Yes on heyward.  He isnt the middle of the order powerhouse but he isnt having a bad year either.  Like you implied, his athleticism is a game changer.  I think the cardinals should try to retain him.  His age is the main reason id be interested in him over the other options.  I think what you get with him is going to be what you get for the next 7 years.  He is probably worth 16-20 million with the kind of year he is having.
