Re: 9/23 GC

Ball one to Carpenter was a better pitch than strike three to Votto.

Re: 9/23 GC

Zach is in the TV room with me. Between innings, I flipped to the Cubs game and they had a shot of the W flag.
Zach: "What's the flag with the W on it?"
Me: "When the Cubs used to play only day games, they'd put up a W or an L flag to let people in the neighborhood know when they came home from work if the Cubs won or lost."
Zach: "Yeah, it's not like they have to save room on the flagpole for their World Series banners."
I love this kid.

Re: 9/23 GC

After he said Boesch was playing "at the top of the arch," Al then felt the need to clarify he was referring to "the one cut in the outfield grass."
Thanks. I thought for a second there you were talking about the big shiny one down by the river.

That's a pretty witty line from a young teenager.

He's a sharp kid. He loves to make people laugh. He was also in the play they put on during visiting day for parents at summer camp and he killed it. Can't get him to do any of that stuff like joining the theater club at school, though. It's not cool enough.

How about Bourjos hitting a homer onto the on course in left? Think that was from a second helping of spinach at dinner last night?

The good D, no hit catcher gets a single then lets one through the five-hole in is major league debut. Go figure.

Re: 9/23 GC

I thought 2011 was the wackiest regular season ever, but 2015 may top it.
