Came in to post this. Huge, huge, huge.

Now the question is, how long can Lyons hold the fort? They've made some solid contact off him.

I'm glad I didn't see that nonsense on Sunday. Rosenthal is 48 for 51. Not even Mariano Rivera was perfect.

This is a big half inning. Keep it 6-0.

He just needs to throw strikes.

Nice of all these Pittsburgh people to show up to watch the Cardinals clinch the division.

I don't mind listening to the Pirates radio guys, but gotta chuckle about how, after the Cardinals' 1st, Greg Brown felt the need to point out that the Cardinals, for a team with the BRIB, score a surprising percentage of their runs on "double plays and fielder's choices".

There's a fan sitting behind the Cardinals' dugout wearing a full blown Pirate costume. How foolish does he feel now that the Pirates are down by six runs?

I tend to give Greg Brown a pass because he watched so many bad teams for so many years. When the Pirates were really, really awful, Bob Walk used to utter a barely audible mumble.

Michael Morse leads the league in nose hair. When he sneezes, he looks like a party favor.

Who is Rusty Wallace?

I hope Lyons gets to go as far as he can and MM doesn't succumb to the urge to tinker, at least for another inning.

Lyons' curve is breaking like a wiffle ball.

What a great game he's pitched. Assuming someone else is in the on-deck circle now.

Check, please.

The Reds are about to lose their 11th in a row.
