Pirates Announce Starters
Wainwright vs. Liriano
Wacha vs. Jon Niese
Leake vs. Juan Nicasio
This first series is going to be interesting to see how dutifully Matheny carries out Mozeliak's vision for the season. Ideally, the first two games would see Holliday at first, Gyorko at second and Pham in left. Maximize the one advantage you know you have (platoons). However, I am already anticipating Wong and Adams in there against Liriano.

I agree this is going to have to be a platoon team to create offense. I wouldnt mind wong at second tho. Put gyorko at short. Tejada still doesnt interest me. Admittedly ive watch ever little st. Something about watching holliday and carp take 15 minute at bats bores me......and after typing that I realize it probably doesnt matter who you start vs liriano. When that comment is true your probably watching a offensively challenged team.

Tejada is opening the season on the dl so it will surely be wong at second and gyorko at ss.
