4/9 GC

If you're filling out a lineup card and Brandon Moss is the fourth name on it, there's a problem.

Re: 4/9 GC

Teheran walks the bases loaded and Yadi swings at the first pitch he sees close to the strike zone. Brilliant.

Pierczynski looks like he's going to kill Teheran.

9 walks

Can you blame him?

Re: 4/9 GC

There are no bad wins, so I'll take it, but sheesh are the Braves a sloppy mess. I wasn't able to watch much of it, but what I did see was hideous.

Oh well. It's going to be interesting to see what happens with the shortstop position when Tejada comes back. Tejada isn't very good, but it's an adventure defensively right now. Diaz might be a shortstop someday, but he needs more time. Gyorko should never play more than a handful of games and Garcia has apparently put himself in the same doghouse Tommy Pham got in last season. At the same time, Diaz's bat is electric; Gyorko is a weapon against lefties and Garcia rarely takes bad at-bats.

It would be odd to sea a team carrying four middle infielders, but I'm guessing the Cardinals will see Diaz as the most expendable. At some point, though, Matt Adams has to get going because he's quickly moving into Chris Duncan/Rick Ankiel/Colby Rasmus/Allen Craig levels of funk.

Re: 4/9 GC

You can add grichuk to the same category as adams.

I still say roll with diaz.  I know the defense is bad but id rather see him learn on the job then other option.  If he hits like this i think he has to play.

Hopefully they win tomorrow.  That would be a .500 road trip.  There are worst things.

Re: 4/9 GC

Diaz made one very good play last night. I know that's not much to go on, but he's a better option than Gyorko watching groundballs roll past his feet and booting the ones that he does manage to get to.

I wouldn't have blamed him if he sat in his bathtub and opened a vein.
