Waino vs. Hellickson

Wainwright looks sharp through two. Hope he can keep it up.

I don't understand why FSMW cuts to the behind-home-plate cam. I don't need to see what Jeremy Hellickson's delivery looks like from a $600 seat. I pay $1,400 a year for cable so I can see it nightly on a 50-inch screen. Stop it.

Ooh, Matt Adams got a bunt down. Somewhere, Jeff Gordon just went half-mast.

I expect Tommy Pham back around the same time I expect Jordan Walden back.

Hard to believe Wong would swing through a fastball three inches above his head.

My biggest failure of little league baseball came in 1995. My plucky last-place team was taking the obviously stacked-against-us first-place team down to the wire. It was the bottom of the seventh and we trailed by a run. The bases were loaded with two outs against the best pitcher in the league. I stepped in against him. He had a funky delivery and threw really hard for a 9-year-old. I was just trying to make some contact.
The first pitch sailed above my head, sort of like the one to Wong. Feeling the pressure, I swung at it. Miss. Two pitches later, I finally made contact, but was retired on a ground out. Game over. There are many things I took for granted when I played sports as a kid, but swinging at that first pitch is probably the biggest. He was just as nervous as I was and I hacked at it.

Waino's command is off again. It's a matter of time ...

I expect both of them around the same time as Josh Hancock.
Too soon?

Ouch! I would've gone with Mike Lincoln.

At least you've moved past it ...

LOL. Every time I watch a player swing at a pitch like that, it takes me back. It's stuck with me because the kids on that team were mostly assholes and I wanted to take them down a peg.

Who cooks a hot dog in a frying pan? That's barbaric.

Wainwright doesn't have his head in the game.

Two innings in a row they get two on and can't do shit.

Something has to be done about Kolten Wong.

I played little league with a kid named Peter Chabot. If you grooved one, he could hit it a mile, but he missed everything over his head. He literally couldn't help himself. By the time we got to Babe Ruth, we were on different teams and every pitch I threw him was about eight feet off the ground.
The other thing about him was he was the first person in my high school class who had a noticeably receding hairline. I bet he was completely bald by the time he was 30.

The worst thing they could have done is trade for another second baseman. He's all screwed up.
