Yeah, he looks like he can handle the defensive aspect of the position. He and Leake seemed to develop a rapport almost right away. They seemed to recognize early Leake's curve was going to be an effective pitch, and I don't think I ever seen him throw that many curves, even going back to when Leake was in college.
Offensively, it's hard to tell from only a handful of at bats, but both of his hits came on outside pitches where he took the ball the other way.

He looked like an athlete. I do like that aspect. One nice thing about fryer was if molina got a hit late in the ball game you could pinch run for him without burning 2 played (a pinch runner and backup catcher) because he was fast enough to handle the basepads.
