Cashner vs. Tsunamy

Fucking Cashner. Didn't he plunk Holliday in the face a couple of weeks ago?

I would have plunked Cashner, but hitting Stanton is OK, too.

Ripken pronounces the Cardinals' rightfielders' name "Pishotty."

Time to tee off on this fucking jerk.

First two game they look ready to roll....now it must be time to roll over.

Lot of atom balls the last few innings.

They didn't stand a chance last night with Garcia on three days rest.
Tsunamy is fighting it today. He has no idea where it's going once it leaves his hand.

Nice throw. You're supposed to give out souvenirs after the inning.

I dont understand why they would do that to garcia. He is a fragile fucker....let alone the injury factor.

That's awful.

Ball should have been caught.
But when you consider how the Cards tied it ......Marlins fans would be saying that's awful .

There's a lengthy post on VEB about the absurdity of starting Garcia last night. I tend to find some of the stuff on VEB overly dramatic - it's not Matheny's fault every time the Cardinals lose - but this article is pretty accurate.

Just my opinion, but I just don't think they care about him. It's kinda like spring when they pitched Walden what seemed like every other day until he broke. I don't think they have any intention on picking up Jaime's option and really aren't concerned what they do to him physically or mentally.

Well last year i would have said that was crazy....but with lynn coming back and garcias up and down preformance i can see that as a possibility.

If the Cardinals pick up Garcia's option, I will bash myself in the head with a tire iron until I render myself unconscious. That would be less painful than watching him pitch.

Id take 2015 version

I'm done. I'm tired of the whole act. How he melts like butter on a hot day as soon as something goes wrong. The prancing around the mound and pawing at the dirt as soon as there's a hint of adversity. He and Carpenter can both take the highway as far as I'm concerned. The Cardinals just had their best month of the season in July, with Carpenter on the DL for most of it. Think that's a coincidence?

To put some numbers behind this, the Cardinals are 37-39 in games which Carpenter starts, and 39-39 in games which he plays. He went on the DL on July 6. They were two games over .500. They're 13-8 since. I almost barfed yesterday when Ron Darling referred to Carpenter as "an MVP candidate before he got hurt." He's choking the team because he needs to bat leadoff.

Gyorko, garcia and the semi re-emergence of wong have off set carps absence well. I wouldnt expect that to remain true over 162 games.
Carp is a good leadoff hitter. I will agree that he is probably more usefull in the middle of the order if someone else on the team can leadoff. Right now im pretty hesitant if anyone could take that role full time. Garcia looks to be suited best for that position. He isnt a full time player tho. Idk if this years preformance by him is a fluke or a trend.
Imo, the ideal setup would be carp leading off and legitimate 3 and 4 hitters. If i could pick if rather see the cardinals sign a real 3 hitter and leave carp at leadoff then sign a leadoff hitter and move carp to leadoff.....cough...cespedes
