Do you get a free bowl of soup with those hats the Cardinals are giving away tonight?

When they show Matheny on camera he looks like someone who is trying to remember if he left the stove on at home.

Garcia actually showing some courage.

A rare lousy throw from Francoeur.

Changing speed, lot of movement on his fastball....
(now that I have thoroughly jinxed him......)

DeLaCruz seemed upset that he was only missing the strike zone by 3 feet....

More dumb coaching/baserunning...

Miklasz made an interesting point about Garcia during his radio show this morning. Garcia hasn't pitched more than 130 innings in a season since 2011, which was also the last time he made 22 consecutive scheduled starts. He's probably battling fatigue.
Garcia is also a meathead, but Miklasz makes a valid point

They should start him on six days rest all the time.

BTW- I'm also watching the Olympics opening ceremony. The Israeli team just came in, and includes 3 Ethiopian refugees (distant runners, of course).
At some point over the next couple of weeks I expect you to somehow point out this fact to your mother in-law and ask her if she thinks they're Sammy Davis Jr.'s grandkids.

I don't get it. He retired 11 in a row, his pitch count is still low, and he's throwing wiffle balls. And two of the three guys he would have faced are left-handed.

NFW! I'll bet they didn't look Jewish.

How come the Americans are already in the arena and we're only on Papua New Guinea? I thought they enter in alphabetical order.

I got it ... in Portuguese, we're Estados Unidos, so we're after Ecuador.

I'll probably watch the Olympics when the burning and looting begins....
