Not sad to see the no hitter broke.  Those things can be counterproductive.

Moss is approaching the point where the Cardinals will offer him the FA tender and not mind if he accepts it.

I would be OK with never seeing another commercial with Peyton Manning.

Tui.

I think they should bring Moss back on a 3-year deal.

There has been alot of discussion of late about what to do with holliday, moss and garcia.

Holliday to me is a no brainer.  Let him walk.  As much as i hate to say it i dont think he is worth having around unless he will stay for half the pay and play a bench/occasional starter role.

Moss is tougher.  This could simply be a spike in his career or could have 3 more decent years.  I expected him to be worth it this year but not sure going forward.  A draft pick is worth something and thats a lovk at this point.  In thinking about the situation, if you dont sign moss, then who?  You have to bring in a middle of the order bat.  Might as well keep the guy you know.  3 years at 50-60 million is steep but thats the going rate.

Garcia....idk about him either.  He woukd surely turn down a qualifying offer.  And with the price of pitch some team will likely sign him.  Idk if he is worth more as a trade piece or netting a comp pick with.  He isnt a bad pitcher but he is not trustworthy either.  If you had to put him in a playodd game your never going to know who is going to show up.

Re: 8/17 GC

1st. Carp
2nd. Wong
3rd. Peralta
Ss. Diaz
C. molina
Rf. piscotty
Cf. Pham/grichuk
Lf. Moss

Bench; gyorko, pena, hazelbacker, garcia, pham/gruchuk

Trade adams.  And with the versatility of gyorko he is ur everyday supersub.  With the movable parts the depth chart is doable.

Thats my prediction

Re: 8/17 GC

If they dont pick up moss or holliday your optiond are Jay Bruce, Jose Bautista or Edwin Encarnacion.

Re: 8/17 GC

You could do a lot worse than Jay Bruce. Encarnacion is heading toward an exclusive DH role, which keeps him in the AL. Joey Bats has never done much for me. Let the Yankees overpay him.
I don't think Moss commands $17-20 million a year. You can probably get him for $10 million for two years.
My thoughts on Garcia don't need to be repeated. I just hope he signs with a team in the division.
Centerfield needs to be upgraded. Grichuk and Pham are fourth outfielder types. They may have to swing a trade, but they need more offense from that position.

I think the Moss number is a little low. The 1-year tender is expected to be $16.5M. I don't think he'd take 2/$20M if he could get 1/$16.5 and take his chances on 2018.

That said, I think $17-20M is too high. I would think 3/$36-45M would be in the right range.

Re: 8/17 GC

Fors is on it wrt Moss' salary.

Garcia drives me nuts, but he has a $12 million option. With uncertainty surrounding Wainwright, Leake, Wacha, Cooney, Gonzales and Weaver/Reyes being inexperienced, you can do a hell of a lot worse than Garcia for $12 million.

I want to see what happens with Grichuk before I make a prediction on what they will do. He has seemingly embraced the grip-and-rip approach and if he is a .230 hitter with 20+ homer potential, that's a guy you take into next season as your starter.

I like the idea of Jay Bruce - but as a left fielder.
