I am suprised he didnt post a pitcher in the back of the room to throw at whoever was speaking.

"It will air from 7 to 7:05 p.m." emcee John Rooney said
That's hilarous .

I would pay money to see the unedited version with a camera on TLR at all times. I cant imagen him taking it all in good in good grace. Sound like alot of untouchable subject were brought up like the DUI, him hating younger players and the animal thing. I understand it wouldnt be a roast if they were not brought up but damn. I am suprised TLR even agreed to be roasted. Maybe this is the more people friendly TLR that he has spoke of being.

Actually I bet TLR took it exactly as it was intended--as good natured fun. The public rarely gets to see his sense of humor, but he does actually have one.

It would help if the only time we saw TLR speak wasnt after games. I almost always turn off the TV right after the game because it is boring and annoying to watch the reporters question him. Alot of the time they ask him questions about moves he made during the game. Often he responds that the moment is to "raw", whatever that means. I would like to see him address those questions. He is a hall of fame manager and if he makes a move I disagree with I like to know why. I do respect him protecting players during the interviews. It is hard for non supporters or opinionless people to gain any liking for him from what they see on TV.

I don't approve of media circus'ing the games. I don't need a 5 second after the loss question and answer with Tony LaRussa. It's crystal clear he's still pissed off about the game, and the last thing I want to do is listen to him try not to cuss out the media for second guessing everything he does.
Players in tears on the sidelines? OMG GET A FUCKING CLOSE UP OF THAT SHIT!!!! They had a front page yahoo article about Ed Reed crying after the Ravens gave him a game ball for playing hard despite his brother being on a missing person report. Seriously? I don't need that news. Let Ed Reed have a moment to himself with his teammates for fucks sakes.
I guess Aaron Rodgers didn't sign something for a fan at the airport. Fan was a cancer patient and the media has tried to villify him.... Listen, he's at the fucking airport. If you want to approach him, do so with the understanding that he may not want to be the sports hero at that moment. He might be fucking tired and trying to catch a flight. I interrupted Dontrelle Willis during a meal for a picture one time, and the dude was nice as hell. I looked back on it pretty embarrassed. The fucker is just trying to eat wings and look at some titties, and has to deal with that kinda shit??
At some point, this is going to blow up, you watch. They'll stuff a microphone in somebody's face, and ask him something mega sensitive, and a professional athlete who works out for his job is going to beat that little dude's ass all over the locker room.... You wait, mark it down.

If you were able to snap a picture somewhere Dontrelle was looking at titties, you were probably lucky that you didn't end up getting pounded by a bouncer. Those places tend to be a little sensitive about that sort of thing. (nerdy) (nerdy) (nerdy)
All kidding aside, it's bullshit when athletes get villified for shit like that because we only hear half of the story. I doubt Rodgers was trying to be a dick, but nobody cares if he had a perfectly good reason for his conduct. For that matter we'll never know if he had a perfectly good reason.
I remember a client telling me a story about taking his nephew to see the Cardinals play the White Sox. The nephew has Downs Syndrome and was a huge Jim Thome fan. They went to the ballpark on Friday night, waited and got Jim Thome's autograph. According to the client, Thome signed for almost an hour accommodating every fan who was there. They went again on Saturday, waited again, and again Thome signed for almost an hour and gave an autograph to every fan who asked. They went to the game on Sunday, and again the guy's nephew wanted to wait for Thome. The client tried to explain that Thome probably wouldn't be able to sign anything because the White Sox were leaving St. Louis and probably had a plane to catch, but the kid insisted so again they waited. When the White Sox came out of the stadium, all of them, including Thome, filed onto a bus headed to the airport. When Thome didn't stop to sign an autograph for the kid, he started to cry. There wasn't any publicity about it, but you could just see the headline, "Jim Thome refuses to sign autograph for fan with Down's Syndrome" and Thome being villified for his conduct despite the fact that, by the client's account, he had been extremely pleasant and accommodating on Friday and Saturday.
