I'm mentally preparing myself for Adams starting in left field today despite Piscotty not being concussed. 

I'm surprised Carpenter hasn't bitched about not being in the leadoff spot yet.

I thought the Cardinals took batting practice before the game.

It probably wouldn't go over too well in the Carpenter household, but the best lineup the Cardinals could run out there (at least against RH pitching) might be a lineup with Adams at first and Carpenter at third.  Peralta appears to be toast.  Adams may not be an ideal cleanup hitter, but he's a better option than Peralta (or Molina).

Moving Carpenter to first was more of a front office move than an acquiesce to Carpenter. He wasn't very good over there and moving him across the diamond was the best move for the infield defense. I agree that Peralta is toast, but I think the best lineup is Gyorko at third (better than Carpenter and Peralta at defense; better than Adams and Peralta at hitting). Gyorko must wonder how to earn Matheny Bucks.

It is sort of amazing that a guy who can play 3 infield positions can't really play one above average.  It is my opinion that he best defensive year snd position was the first year he played second base...13?
