Dee Gordon hits into a double play. There's something you don't see every day.

I tuned in late
Apparently CMart had a good game on the mound and at the plate.

I agree
The homerun just now sounded like a bomb went off.

What is the 3 inning save (if there still is such a thing) , and does Socolovich get one ?

That was embarrassing. Fortunately, Stanton put his head down and tried to get it overwith as quickly as possible.

I believe he does. When his agent is negotiating his next contract, he gets to make a case that Socolovich was the Cardinals' closer at one point.

They're one game better than they were after 31 games last season. The difference is they were eight games out at this point last year because the Cubs got off to such a good start. The closest they got after May 8 was six games out.

Moz is a genius.
Serious note, may is a tough schedule. Cubs, red soxs and the dodgers twice. Then you have the Rockies who have the second best record in the NL and the giants who cant be as bad as they have played. Probably ought to enjoy this series.

If there's any solace, the series against the Cubs, Red Sox and Giants are at Busch. And while you're probably right the Giants aren't as bad as they've played so far, Bumgarner isn't going to be back by the time they arrive in St. Louis.
I'll grant you the stretch at the end of May/beginning of June when they go to Los Angeles and Denver, come home to play the Dodgers and then go right back on the road to play the Cubs and the Redlegs looks formidable.
