I made a comment to a co-worker yesterday that at the end of April I would have felt fairly comfortable saying Wainwright's ERA would never see the south side of 4. Happy to be wrong.

Since I'm retired, I don't have co-workers anymore but I'm sure I would have said that to someone if the opportunity had presented itself.

Speaking of knowing our personnel, I commented by email last night to a former co-worker who is also retired that it looked to me like Bowman was spent.

I was advocating a move of Waino to the bullpen last year. I also said to someone who probably let it go in one ear and out the other that pitching Bowman in Denver was a dumb idea because his sinker doesn't sink.
