Thank you, Extra Innings for the new Beta feature. No more Brennaman's mentally-retarded offspring and his Idiot Sidekick.

Bunt, seeing eye single, walk, dropped fly ball and Siegrist can't get out another left-handed hitter.

That was on Piscotty. He didn't pick up the coach until he already had committed himself rounding 2d. Of course Maloney was waiving him on anyway, I think.
I'm no fan of Maloney but the biggest problem on the Piscotty play was the same thing with so many of the young Cardinal players. They think they are supposed to keep a close eye on the ball after they round second. Grichuk was the worst.
Maybe they just don't have confidence in Maloney.

Nah, we're referring to the boneheaded decision to send DeJong home when Duvall had the ball in his glove before DeJong had touched third. The out at third was on Piscotty. The play was right in front of him.

I wasn't watching at that point.
As I said, I'm no fan of Maloney.

Sounds like sitting in the 90 degree heat and humidity while my daughter played a split doubleheader (games at 6 and 9) was more enjoyable than what you guys had to endure.

In a run of frustrating games, this may have been the worst. Bad decisions on the basepaths cost them one run for sure and probably two early in the game, and even though Martinez was dominant through the first six innings, you had a feeling that was going to bite them in the ass.
When Hamilton led off the seventh by reaching on a bunt, you had the "here we go again" feeling, and then Fowler couldn't hang on to Suarez's line drive. Then Matheny brought in Siegrist to face Gennett, and you knew it was going to end badly.
Then, of course, the Cardinals can't do anything against the Reds' vaunted bullpen. In the ninth, Pham drew a walk after a good at bat, which seems to be standard for him these days, but the other three guys who batted in the inning didn't have a chance against Iglesias' slider.

Because we've been busy with a variety of things, I haven't watched a pitch since Wainwright's last start. It doesn't sound like I've missed much.
