Maybe bader and oneill are the 3 and 4 hitters of the future. Idk when that future is. Seems to me they have proven themself in triple A. Especially bader who, by the numbers, looks to be a more balanced hitter.

I agree.

" “I feel like I don’t have that silver bullet to say, ‘Hey if we go do this, we will be greatly improved,'” says Mozeliak, who also bluntly expressed frustration with the way the Cardinals’ players have performed. “I feel like I’m not going to make excuses for people or players. Everybody points the finger upstairs to try and find the solution or the move. Well, maybe 25 [players] need to look in the mirror.” "
Thought from Moz
Imo if the gm is the only one with the nuts to put players on notice, it should be really easy to find the real problem.

Thanks, AP. I can hardly wait to find out how they made room on the 40 man.
Or maybe I wish I could wait.

Oh well, it was surely the right move. Huffman.
But I hate to see him go. Unlike Fryer, he has elected to get an unconditional release.
If Bader hits well at the ML level, I don't they will have Piscotty by the start of the 2018 season. Bader is a legit centerfielder, even though I doubt he has the speed of Adolis Garcia, Mercado, or Sierra. But he can really cover the ground. He's made several catches lately that made me think of a right-handed Jim Edmonds.

High praise, considering you hold Edmonds in such high esteem as a player. I'm looking forward to seeing the kid play.

Have you enjoyed seeing him play as much as I have?

Once again, I have to believe some trades are on the way. From what I've been able to determine on the basis of the internet, I have felt that Hernandez was he best pitching prospect below AA. Last night he was pulled after only 1 inning and a high number of pitches. I assumed it was an injury, but maybe not. According to the PD, there is yet no word on the reason. They suggest either an injury or a possible trade.
On Patrick Wisdom:
They need to either make room for him or trade him while his value is pretty high.
Piscotty is on the DL. I think that keeps him out of the trade market.

I love speed, so he's my kind of player. My outfield would be Pham in left, Bader in center and Sierra in right. Put Voit at first and now you've got a lineup I'd love. Of course, none of that addresses the lousy bullpen, which is the team's primary issue.

The problem with moving Lynn is you're essentially running up a white flag on this season when you're only four games out of first place. I've noticed in this homestand more empty seats than I've seen since the stadium opened. I understand it's been hot in St. Louis this week and maybe people are staying inside with their air conditioning units, so maybe I'm misreading the tea leaves, but I think if you trade Lynn and some of the other pieces they could move, they won't sell another walk up ticket until next April. That's a major consideration for an owner who is so greedy he sold the urinals from the old stadium.

I think he and Grichuk (and possibly DeJong) have gotten instructions on hitting the slider from the same person, and would most likely have been a Cubs pitching coach.

Imo the purpose should be to sell more tickets in 2018 and beyond rather then worry about less then half a year of 2017.

You could throw Gyorko into that group, too.

Yeah, but you see the big picture, which puts you in the vast minority of sports fans. Most fans are bandwagon jumpers, and they won't go to the ballpark unless the team is good right now.
I'm looking forward to the NFL season when age finally catches up to Brady and the Patriots go 6-10. These idiots who think Bill Belichick invented football will find something else to do pretty quickly.

As I wrote, I've really been following him closely.
The guy's name is Junior Fernandez, not Hernandez!! Sid, not Keith.
Turns out he was pulled for arm soreness near the bicep. That's usually better than and elbow or shoulder but not always.

What the hell!! Cards are interested in Josh Donaldson?
There are 3 explanations for this: (1) the fans are complete idiots, and management will let them call the tune; (2) Goold needs something for his column, (3) Goold has gotten over the heartbreak of losing Steven Drew and now has a man-crush on Donaldson.
Gyroko has performed much better than Donaldson this year. If the Cards want to trade him, they'd do much better to go for propsects and take a flyer on Wisdom for the remainder of the season.
Incidentally, Wisdom is a very fiery guy. In the past, too much so.

Why would trading for a player who was the AL MVP two years ago be a bad move?

Imo the business of baseball is as interesting as the game. What you see on the field is different then any other sport. It takes time, for thought and a bit of luck. In baseball a team can not draft well (as in the nfl) and change the outlook of the up coming season. In baelseball players cant form super teams (as in the nba).
