Is it me, or has it seemed Carlos Gonzalez hasn't wanted to be anywhere near a baseball field the last three days?

Did Edmonds just say "He's changed the complexity of the game?"

Yes!! He is no match for Shannon or Hrbaosky but he does have his jock moments.

He bears no resemblance to the guy I remember from previous series.

Brebbia is on the verge of being a reliable relief pitcher. Or, in the Cardinals' bullpen, a unicorn.

I thought I was kind of having a lousy day, but Ryan Hanigan's has been much worse. He's getting killed back there tonight.

I just heard whiskey dan give the score on the Memphis game. In that game, Patrick Wisdom hit his 23d home run. Unfortunately, they had to take him off of the 40 man roster last year. He's finally come around and appears to be the ballplayer they drafted at the same time as Kelly and Piscotty. But he's about 26, I think.
He's got a cannon for an arm and at times plays very good defense at third. But he still makes more errors than he should.
Flatherty was pretty good tonight but it took him about 90 pitches to get through 5 innings. Arturo Reyes was lights out in two innings of relief.

It seems like DeJong has about 11 at bats tonight.

How often are the Redbirds on TV in Memphis?

This year, never. We have Comncast cable and the programming gets worse by the week.

My son refers to Comcast as "Communist-cast," under the rationale nothing works. When I try to tell him Comcast is probably the least communist entity in the history of civilization except for the Walt Disney Co., I get the same blank stare I get from my dog when I try to tell him his walk will have to wait until the end of the inning.
In any event, my wife's best friend since elementary school and her husband have worked at Comcast for the past 30 years, in which time the company has broadened its empire to include NBC. They're wonderful people, but his politics lay somewhere between Joseph McCarthy and Ivan the Terrible. We've learned to co-exist, but whenever he starts bitching about what's left of the Democratic Party, I remind him he's technically a member of the liberal media cartel. He loves it when I tell him to say hi to Rachel Maddow for me at the next company picnic.
