No breaking pitches in that sequence to Grichuk.

Magrane is right. Terry Pendleton's homer at Shea was the biggest moment of the '87 season. And I was watching the game with two Mets fans when it happened.

Why is Carpenter still on second base?

Gotta swing at that one, Dex.

I think we all decided months ago , that he does not run the bases well . Throw in the fact that he's slower than molasses and the defense rests ...

With two lefties coming up after Phillips, you gotta send out Lyons for the eighth, right?

I apologize for being a broken record, but the broadcast team tonight said Wong's OBP is over .400 when he leads off an inning. Geez.

Wonder if Rosenthal will repay Carpenter and call him out for dropping a chest high throw from second base

I just emailed a couple of Cardinal friends about the same thought. My guess is that Rosenthal will suck it up. But I don't think I could. Thanks to Mr. Leadoff, Rosenthal won't be available tomorrow and probably should be on Monday.
I also get sick of him bitching about called strikes so often when the plate ump is actually right.
Unfortuantely, we are only geting coverage of these games through the Braves broadcast. I sure would like to have heard the post game comments by the Cardinals.

-D-Backs lead 6-0 with 2 out in the 9th.

Bryce Harper just blew out his knee trying to beat the coverage to 1st base. Looks like serious damage.
They were playing on a wet field after a lengthy rain delay.

"...and the defense rests ..." LOL. Can you blame them?

Dusty Baker asked people to pray that Bryce's injury isn't serious. If Dusty's god really cared about the Nashnils, would he have let Harper get hurt in the first place?
