I'm at work and following the game online. Did Carpenter get thrown out trying to score from third on a single?

Idk i sat down to watch the game and have a beer, phone rings, kids first day of school so it is back to drill sergeant type night, dog being his normal needy self. I just caught bits and pieces.

My son is still at summer camp. School doesn't start until the 28th. And that's early for us.

Its about half and half for me with school starting. It is nice not to have 2 drama filled girls all day but the chore of making sure homework gets done and starting the day barking orders at 630 wears you down.

Mine started last Thursday. Bob is a senior and Madison's a freshman. It's the first time they've been in the same school since Bob was in 5th grade.
They're up at 5:45 each morning. I get up at 6 to make sure I hear the showers going. They're old enough now I don't order them to do anything. If they don't eat breakfast or forget something it's their fault, not mine. Especially in Bob's case. He leaves for college next year. Time to learn to do stuff on your own because mom and dad won't be there next year.

This strike zone is like Game 1 of the 2004 World Series.

Kimbrel has 92 Ks in 50 innings. Is that right?

Why is Rosenthal only throwing 94-95?

Oh it'll be lights out. Right after the Red Sox walk this one off.

"Red Sox CF Bradley threw out Carpenter, who was on third, at the plate on Tommy Pham’s bloop single.
Carpenter held on the bag, looking to tag up, and was cut down as he tried to slide around Vazquez’s tag."

Which would be bad baserunning. If it was a bloop hit, then the ball wouldn't have been deep enough to score if caught as a fly ball. He should have been a bit down the line which would have allowed him to score when the ball fell.

Case closed. The worst base runner I've ever seen.

That was pretty bad.
1. As fors said, he cant tag up and score on that fly so why not be down the line.
2. He isnt running hard
3. I think mainly he was just suprised the throw came home. Like the red sox were just going to concede the run.

I've played in, coached and/or been watching baseball games since I remember knowing how to breathe. I've never seen a runner get thrown out at the plate trying to score from third on a hit. Not even the 7-year-olds in Little League who I had to tell which hand the glove goes on.
