So the 17 million the cards sent is leakes 2018 salary. Finacially the cards got the 2019 16 mill, 2020 15 mill and 2021 5 mill off the books.

Cots Contracts is showing the payment spread out. The Cardinals pay $6M next year, $5M in 2019 and $4 in 2020. I assume the other $2M must be paid this season.

Cots Contracts is showing the payment spread out. The Cardinals pay $6M next year, $5M in 2019 and $4 in 2020. I assume the other $2M must be paid this season.
That makes sense. Im an up front type of person but that 4mill in 2020 will be cheaper then paying 4 mill now.

Siegrist DFAed and Gant called up.
Gilmartin, whom I had predicted would be the first to be DFAed, pitched one strong inning for the Redbirds last night.

Siegrist has to have some permanent structural issue. He lost so much velocity in such a short time.
But he's left-handed. He probably has 10 years left in the big leagues

So was he dfa because they believe he will pass throufh waivers and head to memphis or because the club is done with him and expects a team will claim him?

Justin upton would have been interesting....will be interesting this off season to as he is likely to opt out. Might have been a good idea to trade for him and try to resign him.
