5/23 GC

They'll never disclose it, but it appears there are fewer than 20,000 in attendance today.

O'Neill sits because...who knows, I got nothing.

This is not the most potent lineup the Cardinals have ever put forth.

Re: 5/23 GC

Looks like Ozuna was a late scratch.  O'Neill back in the lineup.

Re: 5/23 GC

And they score two runs after I dis them.
Let's see how this works, then: I don't think the Cardinals will score any more runs today.

Re: 5/23 GC

Shit, I didn't know they were playing a day game.

And I've got 2:30 (Central) Vet's appointment.

Re: 5/23 GC

Good for Matheny.  Bringing in Tui in a pressure situation.  He's earned the chance, even if he blows it.  It's necessary to find out if he can be depended upon.

I wonder if Holland will pitch the eighth inning today ...

How many dogs do you have at this point?
We adopted a mutt about four years ago. One of the best things we ever did. The dog is the only one who is excited to see me when I come home.

Guess not. I wonder what it's like to be Dozier and come off the bench to face Hicks?
Can you see Yost saying to him: "He's only got 105 mph in his pocket. Go get 'em?"

Re: 5/23 GC

Let's see if they can record all three outs at home plate here.
That would tie a record, BTW.

Sadly, it does.

On the plus side, there aren’t enough people at the game to make my trip home difficult

Re: 5/23 GC

Ozuna overslept , missed reporting time — Goold

Apparently some of the other Cardinals did as well .

With a reminder that I attended the same high school as Billy Clinton, I must say that it depends upon what you mean by "have."

We currently have 5 living under our roof and it's been that way since November of 2016.  In Sept. of that year, one of our daughter's 2 dogs was pur under anesthesia for treatment of an abscessed tooth but the operation was immediately halted because his heart rate had gone through the roof.  They discovered that he had about three large masses that were malignant and inoperable.  The vet said to take him home and feed him a steak and be prepared to bring him back for the big needle.  Most of the next two weeks, he was barely hanging on and I was staying with him while my daughter was on a business trip.  Then, he bounced back to where he'd been weeks before (probably because my daughter had returned).  We (including the vet) all thought it would be a matter of days.  So we decided to have our daughter pick out another dog at a rescue and we would keep him until she lost Danny.  That way he could acclimated to our pack and could be brought over for visits.  She picked out one who looked a lot like her other dog.  He turned out to be a very sweet dog but a world class control freak.  Any time another dog jumps up in excitement, he growls loudly and charges them, though never leading to a serious fight.  Our other 4 just learned to ignore him and get him to join in shouting obscenities at a neighbor's cat or a passing car.  The problem is, my daughter's other dog would more than likely rip his throat out at the first challenge.  She is not int he least aggressive with people but simply will take no shit off another dog and has the strength and quickness to back it up.

So, this past winter, Danny developed still more cancer and finally had to be euthanized about 3 weeks ago.  My daughter was so hear broken that she really doesn't want to think about taking in a replacement.  My wife and the one who was to be our newest granddog are devoted to each other but she rates convenience more highly than I do.  She's not ready to give up on relocating him to our daughter's house even though I'm confident it would be a disaster.  So at this time, I don't know whether we have 4 and a temporary resident or five permanent ones.

I'm sure you'll want to know more as the story unfolds.
