I'd rather see Pena in there right now than Kelly. Kelly looks over-matched.

Without even factoring in the notion Pena hit a home run last night that landed in Kenosha.
But it's a day game after a night game, and the book says you can't use the same catcher for a day game after a night game. Unless it's Molina.

Yeesh. I'm sure glad I didn't pay for the fucking Extra Innings package.

At least they got Reyes a decent jersey number this year.

At least he threw out a base runner.

Fb lucked out and got reyes debut.

Good grief. Without the weight he lost, Reyes looks like he's in high school.
Or maybe I'm just old.

Confused on why gyorko is at 2nd and carp at 3rd. Seems like that should be reversed

I always wanted to know what happens if a player throws the ball into the stands at the end of an inning like Bader just did and the ball smashes a fan in the nose? Can the fan sue? Or is it one of those situations that's covered by the "team isn't liable for objects leave the field" language on the back of your ticket?

Matheny gets more S&H green stamps if Gyorko plays on the right side of the infield.
Now there's a reference AP will never get.

Who knew Munoz has wheels?
Edit: I think he was out.

I really don’t like but I heard Whiskey Dan or one of the crew say yesterday that Gyorko has better range. At least they didn’t say they liked Carpenter’s arm at third.

Carpenter got hosed on that call.

The one guy on the board who I thought would respond to the S&H green stamps reference ...

I’m checking in at MLB from time to time but can’t tell what the hell happened.

Interesting strategy. Bunt a guy over to third so you can send up a .235 hitter for a pitcher who has thrown four shutout innings ...

Thanks. I saw my first Green Stamps in Fayetteville’ Ark. in summer 1950.
At the same drugstore where I encountered my first “electric eye” door opener.

I’m very pleased they pulled Reyes.

I think if they hadn't expected to get five innings from him, they shouldn't have started him. I mean, really. There are only eight guys in the bullpen. Surely, you have to save a couple for tomorrow.

He anticipated the throw going to first on Guerra's bunt and didn't cover the bag.

He struck out very meekly with runners on 1st and 3rd and one out. On the plus side, he recorded the first caught stealing of the season.

Who knew Arkansas had electricity in 1950?
The First National in Norwood used to give double green stamps on Thursdays. You'd spend an entire year collecting them and pasting them into books. Then you'd bring them to the S&H store so you could get a free bottle opener you could have bought for a dime at Woolworth's.
