I can imagine anything on a baseball field that induces more drama than Francisco Cervilli being hit by a pitch.

Well, at least Flaherty went five and qualifies for the win.

Has anyone else gotten the impression Fowler never does anything faster than he's supposed to?

One would think a person who is as smart as Horton thinks he is would know "heighth" is not a word.

Can someone please get Munoz a glove that works? The one he's using has a hole in it.

The Cardinals are spending $34M on a bullpen that's one of the worst in the NL.

I didn't watch, and I realize he gave up a HR, but did Norris get hurt? Why did he only throw 6 pitches?

I think he’s doing fine. They were just trying to save him with the team trading by 3.

Encarnacion was baseball's version of an idiot savant. He hit the ball, he caught the ball, he threw the ball. That's all there was. Whatever he's doing now, I'm sure it doesn't involve splitting atoms.
But at least he seemed to care. Fowler strikes me as the kind of guy everyone went to college with who never studied but still managed to get a C-minus on the final, which kept his GPA high enough to keep him in school for another semester of partying.

Whatever he's doing now, I hope it involves full (or at least close to full) use of his vision. Him getting hit in the on deck circle is still one of the scariest things I've seen on a baseball field.

It was a terrible thing but he wasnt very highly thought of in stl. A lot of the same complaints about fowler was said about juan. Juan had a better career. I think it is telling that juan gets clocked in the eye and stl and the cardinals immediately forgot about him.

This is from Wikipedia, so Juan's mother might have written it, but it would seem he's putting his time to good use ...
In July 2009, a Dominican news organization reported that Encarnación was organizing a run to become a senator in the Dominican Republic, representing his home province of San Juan de la Maguana.[10] The St. Louis Post-Dispatch later reported that the reports were unsubstantiated and without merit, and Juan had instead been working heavily on his charity, the Juan Encarnación Foundation. On Feb 7, 2011 Juan inaugurated the National Campaign Headquarters in San Juan de la Maguana of his independent Political Movement, M-12 in support of the PRD Party's Presidential Candidate Miguel Vargas Maldonado in 2012. Vargas Maldonado was present personally to support these efforts and to take juramentation of Juan's National Diplomatic team. He has National presence with 32 different affiliates in each Province in the Dominican Republic. Juan also is the leader of the National Sports Committee for Miguel Vargas' Presidential Project as part of the National Board of Director of Independent Movements with Miguel

I remember Chad telling me that Encarnacion was a pretty smart guy who had been somewhat frugal during his career to make sure he could financially support himself later in life. Good for him if true. That's not the case with a lot of athletes.
