Every other team in the division has lost or is losing by at least five runs. Perfect night to pick up a game on everyone and these guys are dicking around with the Marlins.

Did anyone catch what they were saying earlier about someone being in a trade involving Norm Cash?

I heard the very end of it. Isn't it the Tigers' version of Brock for Broglio?

Stupidity and narcotics have never been a good combination.

Seperate thay are troublesome. Together they never end well.
I dont think ill ever be someone who doesnt drink regularly. I just like to have a few in the evening when im off work. By few i mean 4 beers at the most. Often half that. Listening to why people stopped drinking makes more and more sense. You hear the lines "everything thats ever happen bad to me, alcohol was involved" or the fact it is just empty calories. As i get older it becomes harder and harder to keep the lbs. Idk talking outloud.

I haven't had anything to drink harder than beer in decades. I only drink on weekends. There are times when I probably have one or two beers too many on a Friday or Saturday night, but I've never been impaired at work, and I almost never drink during the daytime. I used to go to a friend's house in the neighborhood on Thursday nights after basketball, but I haven't played basketball since my knee was replaced almost two years ago. I don't get behind the wheel of a car when I've been drinking, and I won't get into a car with a driver who has been drinking. The proliferation of ride sharing services has made drunk driving an almost inexcusable offense. I haven't taken a non-prescription drug in years, if not decades, though I do admit the painkillers after the occasional surgery do tend to make life interesting.

I can echo many of those statements. Ive never taken a pain pill higher then otc stuff and rarely that. Ive been lucky i guess and when i need one i sort of have a phobia against them so ill rarely take one.
Im just glad i made it to this point in my life and learned the lessons i have without having to learn to many the hard way.

You've avoided problems because you're a decent person, almost certainly because you were raised by decent people who taught you the difference between right and wrong.
I've known very few Jekyll/Hyde types who were decent people without alcohol and assholes when they got drunk. Some, but not many. I went to college with a really funny, really good guy who almost instantly upon the addition of alcohol morphed an angry, raging hulk. He got fired from ESPN because he couldn't stop drinking, then he got arrested and did time in prison. He's sober now and works as a standup comedian who organizes benefits for the military and speaks to kids about bullying.
But, in general, If you're a decent person, you still manage to behave with decency after a few drinks. If you're an asshole to begin with, alcohol just increases your penchant for bad behavior.

Imo, if you havent made a drunken ass out of yourself a couple times you havent lived. Takes just enough of that and like you said, the correct upbringing and you keep yourself from taking the plunge into lasting life issues.
