Look at it this way. A half-inning is more than enough for Rosenthal to impart everything he's ever absorbed about baseball. Then he goes away.

The best way to defend the squeeze is to have the pitcher throw the ball at the batter's head. Or his nuts. Either way, the batter gets out of the way and the runner doesn't score.

And if the batter is Lester, you can’t lose either way. If he gets out of the way, the runner is dead meat. If he doesn’t, you’ve drilled Lester in the nuts and the run still doesn’t score.
