Nights like tonight make me remember that successful baseball seasons are not about beating the teams that are better then you but winning the series vs the teams that are not. That has truely been the difference this year.

My credibility went to hell last night. I told my son I didn't think the Cardinals were going to have a chance because they were facing one of the best pitchers in the American League, who then proceeded to get only five outs before he was pulled.

And, in other news, there's no indication Luke Heimlich sexually assaulted any children in the crowd last night!

I told my wife that I didn't mind watching the Razorbacks game even though it was on ESPN because the Cards game was going to be too painful to watch.
With Poncedeleon pitching, the Redbirds also scored 11 runs for a 11-4 victory. Home runs by Voit, Wisdom, O'Neill, and Arozarena.

I watched the first few innings until the Cardinals game came on. I don't mind rooting for OSU. They've been pretty much terrible in everything but baseball for decades, and my tiny little mind still gets a kick out of watching a women's basketball team that wears uniforms with the term "Beavers" emblazoned on them.
