I couldnt watch the game because for decided to air yanks vs red soxs. Not that it ended up mattering
Fox is carrying the game in this area but the Comcast grid showed it would be the Yankees game and would not begin until 7 central. I discovered the lie in the bottom of the second.

The Cardinals dodged a bullet when Pham declined their invitation to talk long term deal.
But I think they may have missed an opportunity to sell high on Weaver.

Weaver is long over due for a memphis vacation
I fear they may have screwed him up permanently. At this point, just send Flaherty, Gomber and Weaver back to Memphis and/or Springfield, and sign three washed up veterans to occupy the rotation until they can get someone in the dugout in St. Louis who knows something about pitching.
It was absolutely insanity for Matheny to leave Weaver out there to get belted around in the fifth so he could save a pinch-hitter.

I wonder what the deathpool clock says on mathenys career as cardinals manager...well manager in general. No other team will pick him up.
