Cubs 4, Cardinals 1: Carpenter leads off the game with a solo home run, causing McLaughlin to soil himself. Mikolas throws six scoreless innings but has to leave the game due to a high pitch count and the Cubs batter the Cardinals' bullpen,

Close but it was lack of offense,not pitch count.
