How come Roberts and Machado are still on the field? That strike 3 could hardly have gotten more of the plate.
Ridiculous.

I hadn’t seen your comment when I wrote my post.
I really thought the rule would have required the manager to be tossed.

They don’t have tomorrow off. They start a series with the Braves.
Good for Wainwright. I didn’t get a chance to watch, but it looks like he had good stuff

Imagine the Dodgers bitching about balls and strikes.
I thought Turner tried to show up the umpire the at bat before when he turned and started complaining.
The strike zone was generous, but consistent. If ESPN's graphic was accurate, every pitch Hicks threw to Turner and Machado that was called a strike was indeed a strike.

His curveball was very good, and he was able to throw it on both sides of the plate. He used the curve to get ahead and as a put-away pitch. In the middle of the count, he was going with fastballs and cutters, and inducing swings and misses or weak contact with the latter. I'm not sure he ever threw a cutter for a called strike, but he was getting them to chase it. And Molina called a brilliant game. He completely surprised Machado with that slider from Hicks on the 3-2 count.
Funny thing, and Mendoza managed to point this out in between ARod's anecdotes about himself, was Wainwright's fastball topped out at 92 mph. The only slider Hicks threw in the 7th was 93 mph.

Yep, my mistake. That may of not changed my opinion. Yesterday was a must win. They need a long outing from mikolis today.

They don't play each other. The Cubs are at Arizona, at the White Sox, then host the Pirates and the Cardinals.
If you think that's a gauntlet, the Brewers host Cincinnati, go to Pittsburgh and St. Louis and then wrap things up in Detroit.
