I bet Bader gets a lot of tail.
He deserves it all.
A few weeks ago I sent a text to Chad that my daughter, Madison, had a bit of a crush on Bader, which probably made her one of thousands. Chad's response was "tens of thousands, and he's on a mission to service every one of them."
My 15 year old daughter excluded, of course.

I was a kid and the braves were nl powerhouses. Having 3 tv stations you enjoyed what you got to see.One of them wasn't TBS, apparently. Listening to Pete Van Wieren and Skip Caray cheerlead for "America's Team" got really old, really fast.
Nope, i got fox, nbc, cbs and hardly ever abc. I could pick up card games on a local tv station once in a while. You would have to keep adjusting the router throughout the night. Usually the signal faded to nothing but snow and id finish the game by listening on the radio.
In the '80s, I got to see the Cardinals only when they were on TBS or WPIX, which used to broadcast the Mets (with Tim McCarver, BTW). We didn't get WGN because of some silly law that a cable TV provider could only carry two "superstations," and Comcast's predecessors used to opt for the Eastern time zone stations instead of the Chicago station.
I hardly ever got the Cardinals on national TV because I live in an "American League city" and we'd get the AL version of the Game of the Week on NBC, usually the Orioles in the early '70s and the Yankees in the late '70s (but almost never the A's, who in the absence of free agency would have won six or seven World Series in the '70s.)
And the Cardinals were almost never on ABC's Monday Night Baseball because they weren't very good in the '70s.

Id be disappointed to hear any different.

How close is this ballpark to the fucking airport? I half expect a plane to land in the outfield during this series.

I know prudence suggests we Cardinals' fans ought to be all in for one team or the other, but I just can't root for the Dodgers.

Hopefully they score 11 runs in the top of the ninth and it's Weaver.
Scratch that. It may still not be safe.

Not quite the same reception Adams got in Atlanta as he did upon his return to St. Louis.

That's too bad, because you're pitching the ninth.

Well thank goodness we won't incur AP's wrath when he wakes up with his hangover tomorrow.

Dodgers beat the Rockies.
Artie’s disdain for the Dodgers is duly noted, but the Cardinals are better off if the Dodgers can sweep that series

It wasnt that bad.
So i wonder if the reason for throwing cmart in the 8th was because shildt thought it was the most dangerous inning?

I've figured all along the Dodgers were going to win the division because they have too much talent not to. The Rockies have a tougher sked the rest of the way. After their series in LA, they go to Phoenix and then finish with seven at home against the Phillies (who may mathematically still be alive for a WC spot) and the Nashnils.
After Colorado leaves, the Dodgers play the Padres at home and then go on the road to face Arizona and the Giants.

That could certainly have been a consideration. But I think the main idea was to have him go two innings.

I think McLaughlin was correct that Shildt was trying to milk six outs from him, but after he threw so many pitches in the eighth, the ninth wasn't an option. I'm wondering who would have pitched the ninth if it was still a 3-run game. He probably still would have gone with Brebbia, because there really wasn't a better option out there.

Getting head of myself but this bullpen cant be a post season success.

Forgive me for a rare moment of optimism, but the pieces are there for a decent bullpen. And it's impossible to predict the vagaries of relief pitching in the major leagues. The Cardinals' bullpen was a mess heading toward the end of the 2006 regular season. Who knew Tyler Johnson and Josh Kinney were going to be practically unhittable in the playoffs?
And their bullpen situation wasn't that much better in 2011. Remember, La Russa didn't officially anoint Motte as the closer until there were two outs in the top of the ninth in Game 7 of the World Series.
There's no team going into the playoffs with a settled bullpen, unless the Mariners somehow make it.
