Well played, sir.
Anyone else think O'Neill isn't the first choice for a teammate when a game of Trivial Pursuit breaks out in the Cardinals' clubhouse during a rain delay?

Re: 9/19 CG

I was listening to the Braves' broadcast during lunch and it would appear Don Sutton is among the many who have a crush on one Harrison Bader.

Runners on first and third, two out, two strikes on the hitter, double steal, pitch comes in at the ankles, Molina makes a snap throw to second, runner at second safe, runner from third scores.

Nothing in particular. He just doesn't seem like he's going to qualify for a Rhodes Scholarship any time soon. Maybe because he's Canadian.

GameCast has that play described as a "wild pitch."

I hope I'm not stepping on any toes here, but that haircut assures that he would have to be world class articulate to make me think he knows how to address a letter.

There was a pitch earlier that Molina would probably have blocked when he was younger or fresher.  It clearly was properly scored a wild pitch.  But there is no way at all for the pitch that produced the double steal to be scored wild.  Molina caught it cleanly.  He just made an ill-advised throw.

Another basis for the Grichuk comparison.  The difference is that I thought Grichuk was one of those guys that looked really intelligent but was able to correct the miss-impression with his play and his mouth.

My barber is so old he cut Samson's hair. His posture is pretty much that of a question mark, so he can't get to the top of my head anymore, even with the chair on the lowest setting. So I usually end up looking like one of those gangsters from the 1920s with my hair shaved on the sides and flopping over on top. But I can't bring myself to go to another barber.

I'll see if I can catch the highlights tonight. Molina looked unusually slow, even by his standards, on Monday when he went from first to third on Bader's double. I'm almost positive any other player in the league would have scored, and I'm sure if Molina hadn't been on base in front of him, Bader would have made it to third.

The 12.97 haircuts I get at Walmart don't pose any problem for the petite young women who provide them.  But I do miss having my neck shaved with a razor.
Until I was a senior in college and the Beratles came along and screwed everything up, most barbershops had just gone up to $1.25.  Then they started to charge more to make up for the decrease in volume.  I found this one barber not far my parents home with a barber much like the one you described who was holding fast at 1.25.  My first trip to his shop was in the late fall and I mentioned that I had not been around that time of year because I was attending college.  He started telling me how he had a chance to get himself a good education and I thought "Here come the regrets."  Instead, he said, "Can't say I"ve ever missed it a damn bit."
On my second trip, another customer came in and commented on a post-card from Israel that the barber had on the wall and the barber explained that it was from the Holy Land.  Apparently with Bethlehem in mind, they decided it was way back in Pennsylvania.
Then one day I was getting my haircut and a guy came in with a bunch of rusty straight razors that he had retrieved from junk yards.  My barber stopped to take a quick look through the collection and picked out the ones he wanted.  That was my last visit.

When we moved to the North Shore about 20 years ago, my guy was the only barber in town. And he was pretty good. He sold the shop to his son and another partner maybe five years ago. He wanted to stay on as a full-time employee but they've gradually eased him down to three days a week. Unfortunately, I always seem to show up on one of those days.
But, the price of a haircut has raised only $4 in the two decades I've been going there. And, yes, they still shave your neck with a straight razor.

They have a good clip at the Braves web site:

https://www.mlb.com/braves

It's about the 5th video in the window that begins with Freeman's two run homer.  But I was wrong about 1 thing.  The pitch was belt high and not at the hitter's ankle.  I guess it wasn't strike 3 because it was inside.
