Well, I was thinking Al and Whiskey Dan were full of shit for getting on his case.  I’d rather see him get on base and let the pitcher make the last out instead of trying to jack one out.  But now that I know your opinion, I probably should vacate mine.

I wouldn't go by my opinion, but I always thought the objective with two outs and no one on is to get yourself into scoring position. But what the hell. If Wong is willing to bunt with the pitcher coming up, you might as well let him try to steal second, too.

 

I wouldn’t think that would apply when the next hitter is the pitcher, unless it’s Bob Gibson.

And I wouldn’t want to see him trying to steal second with two out and the pitcher at bat.

Russell is technically on "administrative leave." It sounds much more authoritative than "time out."
