For a few years, it was easy to hate the Cardinals. They were always in the playoffs, ownership promoted that obsequious "Best Fans in Baseball in Baseball Heaven" mantra and the "Cardinal Way" nonsense, though the latter was taken out of context somewhat. 
But the Cubs have become pretty obnoxious. It's hard to watch Pedro Strop, for instance, without wanting to punch him in the face.
