I dont trust waino to know if he is done and hang it up and i dont trust shildt to tell him. Moz's touting of waino late season "success" only builds that fear. However, waino is a easy guy to get behind.

I'd be a lot more concerned if the previous manager was still in charge.

I don't disagree, but if there's one guy on the roster to whom you would feel comfortable giving a contract with so many incentives, it's Wainwright. As Madeleine Kahn might say, "So twue, so twue."
They said you was hung!
And they was right!

True...even more true as just a general statement

If Bob "Tigers in 3" Nightengale thinks it's strange, it'll probably work out.

If you overlook the ethics of the situation it's probably a very shrewd move.

I assume Van Whathisname is a lawyer, so there wouldn't be any ethical considerations at all.

Good point.
Although I think a lot of the agants are non-lawyers.

As far as making a living gauging the market and player evaluations, an agent is probably as qualified as anyone.

The Cardinals are better already. The Reds claimed Matt Bowman. No refunds.

This talk of adding an "elite" bat is dull to me. Ive heard it every year since pujols left (or nearly so). It doesnt serm attainable gor this club. Adding mike moustakes seems like a good idea but not a game changer. Imo, the best bet for the cardinals might be to make a run at an elite pitching staff.

Ankiel has ucl surgery. Out until mid 2019. Cardinals still interested in signing him....okay. wtfe

No idea why Yadier is playing baseball in Japan when he should be resting on a beach in Puerto Rico.

Not sure if I'm offending anyone here, but I always thought the meaning of every tattoo is the person who gets one has too much disposable income and not enough brains.
And my wife has three of them.

I couldn’t help but chuckle reading the story of yesterday’s game in which Yadi picked off a trail runner at first base to kill a rally by the Japanese team. It’s been a while since he’s had one of those here in the states, but apparently the memo not to stray off first didn’t make it to the Far East.
It always gave me a good laugh when he’d pick off the runner on first with a runner also on second. You want to ask the guy at first “where the hell were you going?”

Ken Rosenthal is reporting the Astros and the Cardinals have had "meaningful discussions" about acquiring Paul Goldschmidt.
Do with that information what you will.

I’ll double my blood pressure medicine tonight.
I’d love for the Cards to acquire Goldfinger if it didn’t playing Carpenter at 2d or, most likely, 3d.

Wish he was left handed but i guess ill take him.
Facing him and carp in one inning would be a bitch for the opposing pitcher.

I think the "meaningful discussions" probably went like this:
Moz: "Should we have someone call Rosenthal and tell him we're interested in trading for Goldschmidt?"
Girsh: "You think he'll buy it?"
Moz: "Tell him we're kicking the tires on Goldy. Our fans love to read that phrase."

The Royals have hired Mike Matheny as a "special adviser for player development."
Sort of like hiring Faust as your morale officer.

Do the Royals have an 8th grade affiliate?
