We got about five inches of snow last night, so any sign of spring is welcome.

After a cold front, it's 50-something here today. It's supposed to be 60-something tomorrow.
We're supposed to get 3 inches of snow on Friday

I came here to do the same. Reading the thread title was nice.

I do too, but they'd need a starter
Mikolas and Flaherty would be the only 2 starters they could maybe count on.
Wainwright and Wacha will almost certainly be injured
That leaves Gant, Gomber, Ponce de Leon and Hudson to fill a lot of innings
I wonder what you could realistically sign Dallas Keuchel for?

I suppose the rules don't allow it, but if I had a player rehabbing from surgery or some other sort of malady, I'd want them rehabbing in the US. Maybe it's just the players themselves not doing the work, but you can't tell me that the facilities in the DR or wherever else in Latin America these guys live is on par with what can be offered here in the US.

Wonder how martinez will grade out in left field?

On the plus side, hearing early reports on Reyes are all positive. He's apparently ahead of schedule and has moved up to the same schedule as the rest of the pitchers in terms of throwing exercises.

Oh, I can't wait until he tears a fingernail and needs season-ending surgery.

Did his nose grow when he said that?

If I could have a vote, I'd just as soon they never bother to quote players, managers and coaches, or the front office except when they announce a final decision. Frankly, I'd feel insulted, and do, if they had put out such bullshit for me.

I always thought quotes were a waste of time and editorial space. Once a month or so, you'll read something that's refreshing and honest from a player or a coach, but it's usually variations on the same theme. I remember Rodney Harrison after one of New England's wins in the Super Bowl going to the tired "Nobody-expected-us-to-win" rant when they were 14-point favorites or something.
One of the more interesting characters is Kyrie Irving, the basketball player for the Celtics. Ordinarily, I'd be reasonably comfortable saying he's got more than oatmeal in his head because he spent a year at Duke, but then he starts espousing flat Earth theories and referring to himself as a "spiritual alchemist" and you worry he's been sniffing too much glue.

“ Carlos Martinez was spotted at Cardinals' camp with his arm in a sling on Tuesday morning.
Well, that doesn't sound promising. Martinez was sent for a second opinion on his troublesome right shoulder last week, but the results aren't yet known. The Cardinals should provide an update at some point today, but this isn't trending in a positive direction.”

He's pretty much run the gamut of darker colors. Maybe a softer shade of yellow like saffron, or a nice, passive seafoam green.
Good to see your handle here again, Don. Hope you're having a nice winter.

The important thing is , what color is his hair this week .
Heard them say this morning that he received a platelet-rich injection in the shoulder and his evaluation was pushed back a week. If I'm correct, that means his next evaluation will be in the 2nd week of March.

There is now a lengthy story about it in the PD but I'm not allowed to get the full story right now.
