Maybe it's because they wore those stupid green uniforms for a stupid non-holiday.

What's green, two miles long, drunk and has a collective IQ of 47?
The St. Patrick's Day parade in South Boston.
I actually went, once. I was about 16, and I went with my Dad and one of his friends from Connecticut who had always wanted to go to the St. Patrick's Day parade in Southie. I was hungover from the night before. We took the subway from the 'burbs to Broadway, and the first thing I saw when I reached the street was a girl who was about 14 or 15 holding onto a bottle of vodka and throwing up in the street. The odor almost make me puke myself. This was around 10-11 a.m. On a Sunday when you still couldn't buy booze in Massachusetts. So this girl had to plan to get that drunk that early in the day.

Cardinals announced that Brett Cecil will open the season on the DL.
I guess they’re hoping to somehow collect a little insurance money. It would be Cecil’s biggest contribution to the organization.

Thank you for properly placing this on the Spring Training thread.

Please pay close attention to the part where Carpenter says he'll do anything to help the team. Except, of course, hit anywhere but leadoff.

So much for the possibility of him joining Harper in Philadelphia.

Is it wrong that I wish Max was still on the board so he could tell us how the Angels decision to lock up Trout for the remainder of his career is further evidence that the Angels organization is a better franchise than the Cardinals?

I had a similar impulse.

Anyone else think Max is Chelsea Manning?

Very wrong. I suffer enough from those around me who chose to politicize every bowel movement taken by a gorilla at the local zoo.

Thanks. I don't seem to be on their mailing list (the Clintons' or the Zoo's).

The Memphis Zoo is across the street from the Rhodes campus. Maybe Bob will attend along with the sign he recently hung in his room.

Zachary's best friend is Catholic. When the friend was about 7, he asked me "Mr. Vincent, what did you give up for Lent?" I told him "Organized religion." This response seemed to confuse him.

Three scoreless innings for Ponce so far.
Fouler has the only hit for the good guys.

Fowler’s hit should have been caught.
Ponce has really come apart after the homer.
