I remember I was very young when the AS game voting was "returned to the fans," and I didn't find out until much later why it was taken away. Figures the Reds would be involved. I'm not sure they have enough people who go to the ballpark these days to get anyone elected.
 

It should probably be taken back from them simply because fans dont care about the all star game.

I used to get worked up for the All-Star game. Living in a city with an American League team, the only chances you got to see the National League players were during the All-Star game and the post-season. And there obviously wasn't interleague play, or Extra Innings or MLBtv, or the movement with free agency there is now. 
At this point, I hope for as few Cardinals as possible to be selected to the All-Star Game, so they can spend those four days on a beach.
Which gives me an idea to stuff he ballot box for Dexter Fouler ...
