Carpenter opens the game by watching 3 clear strikes.

Shouldn’t Ozuna have been looking for a nice walk there? Terrible at bat.

And Bader swings at the first pitch. Awful

And bitched about the last one, which was right down the middle.

And it appears to be a small zone.

So, if you don't swing, the umpire will call it a ball? Is that the strike zone tonight?

Apparently Carpenter thought so. Didn’t work tho

Flaherty needs to start pitching better.

I still believe he’ll be very good, but with his stuff, 96 pitches to get 11 outs is ridiculous

What's wrong with Caratini's mouth? He looks like the Geico caveman.

This is embarrassing.

Whats another year of missing the playoffs mean?

It probably “means” nothing in terms of I doubt any significant changes occur.
What it “means” is it’s one more year of proof that Mozeliak and his lap dog Girach don’t know what the hell they’re doing. They had a once in a generation player in his prime and rode him to a couple of World Series. Without that guy, and having to actually assemble a roster, they’re more lost than found.
But they’ll continue to sell 3 million tickets, so it probably won’t matter.
I’m hoping that a Blues win will put some pressure on them. This is a hockey town right now. But a lot of the Cardinals support is regional (outside of St. Louis), and most of that group couldn’t care less about the Blues.

Probably count me into that group to a degree. I wouldnt say care less but i am not a year long follower. Im working tonight. If this were a baseball world series in this situation id be burning a day. I dont have my cable subscription because of the blues.
Idk, i hate to be a cord cutter. I watch so little tv and really only have the package i do because of the cardinals. I think im paying 120 for my dish bill. Is it worth it to watch this continual display of yearly crap....becoming not so much.

Their ablity to evaluate talent is horrible. Overvalued prospects and over estimating pitching.

I really think the only fix is a roster purge. And it will be a painful fix.
