Christian Yelich hit his 29th HR tonight
If Jesus really liked Pujols he’d have told him to sign with Milwaukee.

My Comcast service died in the 7th inning.

That was about when my exhaustion level took over. Glad to see they won.

Nah. I was happy Pujols got a rousing ovation last night.
Just a bad effort at making a joke out of how easy it is to hit in Milwaukee.

I'm not bitter, I'm just kind of over it. I lasted until about the third inning before I switched to the Angels' feed, because I got tired of McLaughlin and Horton stumping for Albert's sainthood.

I like pujols. Best cardinals hitter ill ever see and his time in stl will be the best i see in my lifetime. Goldschmidt isnt pujols. Neither is ozuna. There isnt going to be anyone that comes along who will propel the cardinals to the type of success that was seen in the 10 years he was here. I think listening to at the awe over him is probably the one time it is okay to be a complete homer. Watching old highlights makes you realize how good he was and how bad the current team is.

I still think pujols will be more or less given back to the cardinals in 2021 or dfa.
I was just curious how much of his yearly incentives he has cashed in on. Looks like 50,000 for a single all star appearance.
"up to $0.875M annually in award bonuses. $0.5M for MVP ($75,000 each for 2nd or 3rd in vote). $0.1M for WS MVP. $75,000 each for Gold Glove, Silver Slugger, LCS MVP. $50,000 for All-Star"
He got his incentive for 3000 hits, 3mill. However it seems increasingly unlikely he gets his hr bonus of 7m.

Doesn't he have a 10-year personal services contract with the Angels after his current contract is done?

In theory, yes.

The problem with Pujols taking a victory lap with the Cardinals is they can't really waste a roster spot on a 40-something backup right-handed hitting first baseman with a batting average around .235.

Why....they are wasting one on waino and fouler. Bowman was a waste. Ceil has been a waste since day one. And the roster expands to 26 next year.

Id assume the angels would be glad to buy that out at a discounted rate. Wtf type of personal service is he going to do their? His career out west hasnt been exactly beloved by the fans.

Pujols isn’t going to return for a full season.
Bernie had Buster Olney on yesterday morning and asked about Pujols signing a 1-day contract and retiring as a Cardinal. Olney said he thought Pujols had too much respect for Artie Moreno to do that. However, Olney said that Moreno would likely let Pujols out of the personal services contract if the Cardinals wanted to put him in the team Hall of Fame, Opening Day, etc.
