Why in the world would you send a runner with two strikes on Goldchuk??

Shit, there are a ton of Cardinals' fans in the joint.

Flaherty shakes off Yadi twice so he can throw a 3-2 slider to the #9 batter hitting lefthanded.
He's getting into Cementhead territory.

Sixty-two pitches to get six outs. Ridiculous.

Watching the Cardinals is almost like punishment.

Sports talk radio in town is shredding the Cardinals. There's been a lot of discussion that the team has gotten by being the City's darlings, but that's been lost with the Blues. The other interesting topic of discussion I've heard is a wonderful conspiracy theory that Moz hired Girsch to provide himself some cover. That way, if the axe ever falls on the front office, Girsch is the GM, not Moz, and Moz can keep his job.
There's also been a lot of discussion about their recent moves--in particular, how well some of the players they've moved have performed. They're catching heat for having moved anyone with an "attitude" (Pham, Lynn, Lackey, Leake) in favor of guys who quietly go about their business whether the team wins or loses.
Right now, on StubHub, you can get tickets for the next home game (Fri., 7/12) for $10. That's a Friday night game, and the giveaway is an adult jersey commemorating the 2009 All-Star Game at Busch. Tickets to games for the weekday series against Pittsburgh start at $7. for all 3 games. Put simply, right now no one in St. Louis cares about the Cardinals. They've got a pretty big problem with public perception.

Winning sells. The blue can be mediocre next year and they will draw. They cardinals got by on that for a while. I think if this team picks the pace up they can regain some interest.
Also i think some of the issue could be people invest in the blues. There is only so much entertainment money to go around. Going from one sports championship to anothers mid 162 game season mediocre play is a harsh comparison. They regain first place some how and play inspiring baseball toward the end of the year and all is forgiven....now i doubt that happens.
