I’m sorry, but Flaherty’s stuff is too good to not be able to get through 5 innings.
I just had my first look at the box score and upon seeing Flaherty only went 4-1/3 and 86 pitches, feared an injury. What happened? He just hit the wall?
Got pulled with the bases loaded because there were LH hitters coming up.

He walked off the mound shaking his head because he hadn't qualified for the win. You know what? Then don't throw so many pitches to get so few outs. I think it took him nearly 30 pitches to get through the first inning. Every other batter he faces draws a 3-2 count. He loaded the bases with one out by hitting Suarez on a 1-2 count. He was done. Gallegos bailed him out.
The Cardinals' objective is to win baseball games, not enhance Jack Flaherty's statistics.
