It's a bad look, and it's really stupid because he could have injured a fan, but I like the fact that he's pissed off her pitched poorly. It's rather have a guy get angry than not care.

I'd rather have a guy get angry than not care, but I'd rather have a guy who cares and doesn't think the U.S. government orchestrated 9/11.

Launching a ball into stands at a time when fans are even less likely to be paying attention then normal isnt cool. Having stated that disclaimer.....the cardinals need some players with some fire. I think the team has loosened up since mike replaced mike. Still, molina is about the only guy i can see holding teammates accountable. Every team needs a few assholes.

MLBN is reporting the Reds have acquired Bauer in a trade. Because there will always be a place for assholes in Cincinnati.

So it gets weird. Puig was still in the game and apparently was ejected when the Reds and the Pirates got into a wild brawl. Which means Puig may end up serving a suspension once he gets to the Indians. Caveat emptor indeed.

I have no idea what the Reds are doing. They’re 7 games under .500 and they acquired a starting pitcher who might make 11-12 starts the rest of the season. Bauer has another year of control, but besides giving up Puig, they traded one of their top OF prospects who was the Futures game MVP in 2018, almost won it again this year, and is still only 21 years old.

I'm not sure I would have traded Puig for Bauer straight up. And the Indians also got Reyes from the Padres? I don't know anything about the minor leaguers who are involved, including Trammell, but at first glance it looks like Cleveland got a good haul.

And watch the highlight of the fight. I have no idea what started it, but Amir Garrett comes down off the mound and charges toward the Pirates' dugout, where he's swallowed up by about a half-dozen Pittsburgh players.

If it was just Puig for Bauer it would be a huge win for Cincinnati. Puig will be a FA at the end of the year, and Bauer has another year of control. Puig is fine, but Bauer is a top of the rotation pitcher. But Bauer has made it clear he won’t sign a long term contract, and Cincinnati isn’t going to win this season or next and then Bauer is gone. Trammel is a top 30 overall prospect who is struggling a bit at the plate, but he walks a lot, and has blazing speed. They gave up 6 years of control of their top prospect for a year and 2 months of Bauer. Good trade for SD, great trade for Cleveland and a baffling trade for Cincinnati.

So I didn't see the highlight from yesterday afternoon's Reds/Pirates game until I went to lunch just now, but David Bell and Abner Doubleday Hurdle didn't shake hands during the pre-game exchange of lineup cards.
Both Barnhart and Winker got plunked, an inning after Suarez hit a home run to make the score 3-0. Winker led off the bottom of the first with a homer.
The teams have to more series against each other, both in Pissburgh.
