Jim Deshaies is a good analyst, but Len Kasper's voice drives me crazy. He sounds like a gay version of Kermit the Frog.
Try listening to the Cubs radio broadcast with Ron Coomer. He sounds like one of those Bears' superfans on that old SNL bit from the '90s.

Re: 8/1 GC

It’s easier to go deeper in games when you throw strikes. Funny how that works.

Re: 8/1 GC

We had a wicked thunderstorm yesterday and it knocked down a big limb from a maple tree on my idiot neighbor's lot. The town wouldn't take it because it fell on her property, so she's burning it in her fire pit, which is about 25 feet from my den. The fire produced so much smoke the smoke detectors on all three floors of my house have gone off.

There is to much yelling, bitching and fussing going on in this house to actually hear the tv.

I’ll be honest, I’m kinda glad Flaherty gave up a hit.

Yeah, you're looking at ~125 pitches for a CG at the rate he's going. Not worth the risk.

I like wieters.  Maybe the most capable back up catcher the cardinals have had in my time.

She cut up the limb herself?

Re: 8/1 GC

I worked late today and Michele fell asleep and didn’t make dinner so she decided to go get chicken. She called and asked me if she could get 12 or 16 pieces. I said 16 because chicken is always good the next day.

I had a breast, thigh and wing. Michele had a thigh and a leg, and Madison had 3 legs.

The chicken is gone. All that’s left are crumbs and bones. Bob ate the other 8 pieces. He also had red beans and rice. Now he’s eating the biscuits.

Yesterday he ate a full meal while Michele was making dinner. Then he ate dinner.

Yeah, it’s almost football season and he’s working out like crazy, but damn it’s good to be young.

You need to buy a good set of noise reducing headphones.

She clipped the smaller branches off the limb and that's what she's burning. The smoke is from the leaves. I have no idea what she's going to do with the limb. It looks like it's about 25-30 feet long. Guy down the street had a limb come down on a fence he put up at the beginning of the summer. He didn't seem happy.
The unfortunate thing is this is the first day in about a week that the daytime temperature wasn't higher than 90 - the storm pushed all the humidity out to sea - and we had the windows open earlier in the night. Now they're shut and we've got the AC cranking again.

We have a grain elevator up the road so having the windows open is a lost cause.  All the grain dust in the air just makes everyones allergies flair.

But, im glad my neighbors burning doesnt set off my smoke detectors and that if a limb falls i can either cut it up w my chain saw or just use the neighbors tractor to drag it to the river.

I despise people to much to live any closer to them then i currently do.

Basement remodel starts next week.  My diy skills will be pushed to their limits and my patience will be on the thin side.

Yeah, they're doing all of this with him behind the plate. I think he was the victim of inflated expectations early in his career. People saw a guy his size who was a switch-hitter and thought he would re-invent the position.
You're probably too young to remember Todd Zeile's tenure with the Cardinals. They thought he would be the second coming of Johnny Bench. He had a nice career, but his primary claim to fame was he ended up as the player to be named later in about a dozen different trades.
