Passed Babe Ruth for 5th on the career RBI list with 1,993.
A little bit of an asterisk though--the RBI only became an official stat in 1920. Ruth's career began in 1914, so any he had from then until 1919 aren't included. Baseball Reference has gone back and tried to recreate those numbers and according to their site, Ruth has 2,214.
Gehrig is next at 1,995 and then Bonds at 1,996. So, by the end of next week, Pujols could be in 3rd. A-Rod is 2nd with 2,086. You'd think Pujols will get there sometime next season. Aaron's 2,297 isn't in danger.
Another note, Baseball Reference also credits Cap Anson with 2,075 RBI.

By early next year, assuming he stays active and healthy, he should pass Mays for 5th on the HR list. I'm not sure he's gonna make it to 700, though.

2,000 RBI.
And he managed to get his batting average up to .208!

Great for pujols and i am happy for him. Probably the greatest cardinals hitter ill ever see. Sort of sad to see him decline so much and become a un-useful player.
Looking at some statistics, mainly WAR, it sort of tells a different story than his hr/rbi numbers when looking at the best offensive players of this age (that ive seen play).
Total position player war:
1. Bonds 162.8
12. Arod 117.8
14. Ricky henderson 111.2
21. Pujols 99.9
***8. Musial 128.2
That pretty impressive but when i think of pujols as one of the top hitters of my viewing lifetime the stats dont follow.
Total offensive war:
3. Bonds 143.7
13. Arod 115.3
16. Henderson 105.2
20. Jeter 96.3
25. Chipper 88.3
26. Pujols 85.7
Pujols has been worth a negative 1.4 war over the last two years thanks to 2017. Say he is worth a negative 5 WAR over the rest of his contract. He would fall behind griffey, sheffield and thomas. He would be close to falling behind Cabrera, ramirez and, thome, ripkin. Then depending on my own definition of "viewing lifetime" you can throw robin yount and wade boggs in there.
My point is...how good a hitter is he thanks to his AL decline when you look at his whole career. Side note....derek jeter...wtf

In other news, Pujols just tied Nap Lajoie at #7 on the all-time doubles list. He should end his career #5 in doubles. With 21 RBIs needed to catch ARod for 3rd (2nd if you stick with Ruth's official total), that should happen early next season. He's 15th in hits but 134 more lands him in the top ten. And, of course, there's that quest for ARod's 696 homers, if not 700. Sitting at 653, both are theoretically achievable but he needs to finish this year strongly and be just as productive during his last two seasons. Love to see him do that.
