Was there a better option than Wacha on short rest?

I switched over to the Giants broadcast not long after McLaughlin started what could have been a splendid interview with Ozzie by asking him how his golf handicap is.
The Giants seem to think tonight's game is going to be a layup with Bumgarner on the mound. There is also a great deal of anxiety in the broadcast booth about Bochy getting to 2,000 wins before he retires. He's eight short, which doesn't seem like it's too difficult for him to attain, but the Giants have been playing like crap. They have six games left with the Dodgers, and they have to make a bizarre road trip to Boston and Atlanta. But they play also the Marlins and the Pirates in San Francisco, and they have another series at home against the Rockies, which ought to yield eight wins anyway.
And there seems to be a mentality Bochy is a lock for the Hall of Fame. Yeah, he won three World Series and he took the Padres to another, but his all-time record is below .500. Even Art Howe has a better winning percentage.

I assume this is basicly a bullpen game. Most games wacha pitches are.

I thought the Cardinals stopped providing alcohol in the clubhouse a few years ago.

That game may have represented the worst case of headupyourassritis I've ever seen from a Cardinals team. Or any major league team for that matter. And they still would have won it if DeJong doesn't have a brain fart and the inning is extended for Crawford's home run.

Dan blamed it on ump positioning blocking a throw to first
