OK, so he wasn't as effective as Lohse or McClellan, but at least he left the game as scheduled rather than with the trainer at his side.

Hey, credit where credit is due. It would have been tough to improve on 11 innings of 2 hit, shutout pitching.

I am loving the lines I am seeing from Lohse and McClellan, Fors. Although it is welcome, to have even one of them pitching that well is a bit unexpected, and to have both looking dominant, more dominant than Carp is . . . yeah, unexpected.

I watched most of yesterdays game. Carp looked rusty. I expected that but like normal he gutted his way through it. Pujols did hit a slam but that was againt a shitty pitcher who was going right after him. The other at bats he had he looked like he isnt going yet. Freese looked really good at the plate. I never would have guessed he only plays baseball for a month a year. Berkman looked like shit. He was lost at the plate batting left handed against a left handed pitcher. Twice his batted ended up in the Tigers dugout. Rasmus drilled a HR and made a nice throw to home plate that Molina muffed up, letting a run score.
Speaking of Molina, he is sporting a neck tattoo on each side. He doesnt seem like the neck tattoo type. The neck tattoo is the trashyiest of the tattoos. I think it gives you instant street credit. I think street credit is really just a measurement for stupidity. I see a guy with a neck tattoo and I think "there is a guy that isnt right". Add in a big fake gold chain and pants that allow there whole ass to hang out and I dont even want to walk on the same street as him. I think that is street credit.

"This came after Pujols, whose average had slipped to .219, had hit a long foul to left, also of home-run distance, earlier in the game.
"When I'm good, I keep that ball fair," Pujols said. "That will show me a sign that I'm using too much of my top hand."
In fact, Pujols said, "I feel too good. I feel like my hands are like lightning. They're so quick right now that I can't even control them. I just need to pace myself and let the ball go deep.
"I'm not waiting on the ball. I've never hit so many ground balls to third base.""
Pujols is pretty good at coaching himself. This sums up how he looked well.

i'm with you, but tatoos are going viral. many people in colleges, including students and faculty are getting them. even the good ones look like shit after a few years. i just hope my daughter doesn't run and get one when she's a teen-ager, and then regret it greatly by her mid-20's.

I am not against all tattoos. Hell I got a wild hair in my ass once and got one. I would tell you it looks fine but I doubt if I have even seen the thing in a year. I would never have one I couldnt cover up and unless something changes I would I feel no need to get another. I think to play in the NBA you are required to have full sleeves.

I saw Molina's neck tattoos. I don't know why, but I have a feeling that with a different manager and clubhouse, Molina would be about 1 step short of Felipe Lopez.

And I'll wager the regret doesn't lessen over time. There are going to be an awful lot of silly-looking people in their 70s about 50 years from now.

I dont know how I feel about Carpenter making the club. I think his play this spring justifies him making the 25 man but I dont know if it is best for him. If he sees little playing time behind Freese and stops hitting it may have better suited him to play everyday in triple A.

That's what I think.

If Freese was looking like shit I would be expecting Carpenter to be the starter but that isnt the case. It seems odd to say that I guy who is clearly the best or second best thirdbase man on the team should start the season in triple A but I do think that would be best. When Freese goes down with his annual career ending injury Carpenter will not be rusty.
