    I was just listen to the game on the radio at that point.  What was that all about?

    Durwood is clearly annoyed the game is only in the 7th inning. This friggin' guy only has his job because his last name is Sutton, never has to lift anything heavier than a ballpoint pen, and is well-compensated despite a complete lack of competence. Hey Dimwit, how about working 40 hours some week in August for the Phoenix Highway Dept. and then we'll see how much you bitch about having to cover a 3-hour baseball game?

    Montero got called out by Davidson on strikes in the first inning on what was clearly a check swing, and then Davidson made a similar call on an even more evident check swing his next time up. Gibson came roaring out of the dugout and they shouted at each other for a bit, and Gibson got tossed.
    As for the pitching, Carpenter had trouble with his command, and his concentration was awful. I think every run he gave up was after there were two outs, and no one on base. Gallaraga wasn't much better. And the relief pitching on both sides has been worse.
    And now Augenstein is hurt. I think Sutton is going to throw a tantrum right now.

    You're correct. Gibson got the thumb and then he came out of the dugout.

    I just heard that Molina had a really terrible AB last night with the bases loaded. No surprise given how terrible he's been so far.

    All his at bats were dreadful. Check that. He fouled off a few good pitches during his first AB, but each successive one got worse.
