and at least two decent catches, that i saw.  a good night.  i hope we can come up with a more respectful nickname for him than fudgie, given the way he is playing.

considering what he and rasmus are doing, larussa and moz just might look like geniuses if and when pujols and holliday are both hitting at the same time as berkman and raz.

I'm not savvy when it comes to etiquette with the Wave, but aren't you supposed to do it when the home team is in the field?

I thought so because it can be a distraction to the hitter.

Lance-A-Lot?

You wonder what McGwire said to him when he walked over to him in the dugout after he hit the second home run. What advice do you give to a guy who's hit the ball 850 feet in two at bats?

That's what I thought.
No segue here, but Vin just threw out some stat that except for Ethier and Kemp, the Dodgers are hitting something like .083 with RISP.

we'll need to consult the 80's edition of sports etiquette if we want to find a reference for the wave.

Make sure the andro is in your drawer if you invite reporters into your room.

Re: 4/15 Gamecrap

Another thing I noticed about Berkman is whenever he's shown in the dugout, he's talking to one of his teammates, and by his hand gestures presumbly about the opposing pitcher. You see that a lot less frequently these days, probably because there's so much more reliance on video. Pitchers talk about opposing hitters all the time in the dugout because they only play once every five days, but hitters ought to talk, too. There's a lot of value in knowing what another guy is seeing.

His pitch count is still pretty low. And he won't have to face Ethier and Kemp back-to-back again.

if duncan and la russa get another inning out him, kudos to them.  he has looked on the verge of giving up a big inning, just about every inning.  and it has taken some lucky called third strikes to accomplish this, as point out.

Looks like they're going to try to get him through the 8th. Let's hope that's not too ambitious.
